Balls
Si-Boards balls are made from solid urethane with a little bit of give and a natural tacky surface - like a skateboard wheel. The urethane holds up very well to hard riding and repetitive bouncing. With each size increase in ball diameter the weight increases- doubling as a great medicine ball. The smaller balls (3" Mini and 5" Tiny) ride fast, require lots of quick coordination and are closer to the ground for beginners. Larger balls (8.5" Bigs and 10" Super Deluxe) ride slower, require more leg strength and are so high off the ground it can be scary for a beginner. The 6.5" Medium ball is a great all-around ball for most boards and riders. Riders usually progress from the beginner smaller balls to the larger advanced balls.
Get the best bounce and double bounce using Si-Board balls for weighted medicine balls. When bouncing off a solid surface (concrete) the ball return is fast. Throw the ball off the concrete wall and it will rebound back to you at lightning speed before you get a chance to blink. Unique to our balls is the double bounce not found in traditional medicine balls. Bounce the ball to a partner and you will notice the second bounce picks up speed and really comes at you. Add a spin to your throw and your partner is in for a real surprise! Easily bounce and ricochet the ball 15 feet in the air! This rebound creates unique plyometric training with quick coordination, explosive power and added cardio benefit. You really have to stabilize your core and upper body to effectively bounce these balls. Incorporate these balls into the weekly plyo/medicine ball routines for your athletes.
The 3" Mini ball is similar to a baseball but slightly heavier. We've come up with some great baseball/softball training drills off the wall. Most women are able to grip the 5" Tiny ball, similar to a large grapefruit, and is great for one arm exercises for everyone. Men will easily grip the 6.5" Medium ball, similar to a small dodgeball, and is a good all around ball for two handed exercises. The 8.5" Bigs ball is similar to a soccer/volley/water polo ball size and for heavy lifting and well trained individuals. The 10" Super Deluxe ball is for the super strong powerhouse athletes and sized slightly larger than a basketball.
You will love the feel, ride and bounce of these balls. You will not be able to find a ball like ours anywhere! If you ride an air filled ball, such as a medicine ball or athletic ball, you will notice the ball deforms into an egg shape. While you can still balance you won't be able to truly ride on the ball. It is not possible to inflate a ball hard enough to mimic a Si-Boards ball. Plastic balls or slick balls won't give you any traction and you end up sliding the board off the ball. We searched for 3 years to find a suitable ball to ride and balance on. After being disappointed with air-filled, partially solid rubber, plastic and foam balls we have a product we proudly offer you.
Please use caution when bouncing these balls! The extreme bounce is really shocking to first timers. Do not throw when injury or damage may occur. Always be alert and supervise children. Throw and bounce at your own risk.
