Half-Balls
Get the basics of balance down with our urethane Half-Balls. Take any of our boards and decrease the skill level or try new exercises- perfect for multiple users and variety. Almost all balance boards have a fixed ball/bar under the board limiting your exercises to a central pivot point. Since Si-Boards Half-Balls are not fixed to the board, you have the freedom and creativity to place the Half-Ball (pivot point) anywhere under the board. With one and two Half-Balls you can stand on the board facing the same direction and get 10 different types of movements! With our largest boards you can get stretched out into a lunge, wide squat or hands and knees positions while balancing. We've even placed a Half-Ball on a step and balance the board at an angle! This simulates water skiing, wakeboarding and snowboarding better than being level.
Place one Half-Ball under the board to create a wobble board. The board will wobble in all directions and allow you to twist. Put two Half-Balls under the board and create a rocker board. The board will rock back and forth. Place a Half-Ball at one end of the board and try to balance on one leg- this is super challenging compared to a central pivot point. Place two Half-halls in a diagonal pattern and your feet are doing opposite movements. The Half-Balls are, well basically a half of a ball of solid urethane. The height of the Half-Ball is half the diameter listed. The larger the Half-Ball, the greater the board angle and ankle range of motion required. Beginners should use a smaller Half-Ball appropriate for the board then progress to a larger Half-Ball.
Our Half-Balls are great training tools if recovering from an injury or practicing the fine sequencing of skills. Master combining upper body movements with ball throws, punching moves, or push-ups before trying it on a ball. Get a Half-Ball and put it under some other type of board. Create your own indoor training with an old surf board, snowboard, wakeboard, skateboard etc. Half-Balls offer tremendous versatility for your Si-Board.
5" Half-Ball is used on the Ultimate Fitness board and with all Starter boards 6.5" Half-Ball works best on all boards 8.5" Half-Ball works best on the Si-klone, Surf and Si-zmik Original boards.
